Led by an international consortium of researchers, physicians, and European healthcare organisations, PsyPal is investigating whether psilocybin therapy can support the management of depressive symptoms among individuals with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Multiple Sclerosis (MS), or Atypical Parkinsonism and advanced Parkinson's disease. 

Until recently, each of PsyPal's four clinical sites was set up to recruit participants from only one of the trial's eligible patient populations. A new protocol amendment changes that, allowing sites to recruit across conditions and reach more people, across a wider range of diagnoses, experiencing psychological distress due to life-limiting illness. Sites and populations are listed below:

• Prague, Czechia:
  Atypical Parkinsonism and advanced Parkinson's disease, ALS, and MS
• Copenhagen, Denmark:
  Atypical Parkinsonism and advanced Parkinson's disease
• Groningen, Netherlands:
  Atypical Parkinsonism and advanced Parkinson's disease, COPD
• Lisbon, Portugal:
  Atypical Parkinsonism and advanced Parkinson's disease, COPD

PsyPal is now recruiting and is looking for local support to spread the word among clinical and patient-facing networks across Europe. Anyone connected to ALS, COPD, MS, or Parkinsonism care communities in Czechia, Denmark, the Netherlands, or Portugal can help by sharing information about the trial with colleagues, patients, and caregivers who may be eligible or interested.
